Does Garmin, Fitbit, Oura, or WHOOP count on Steppa?
Only if that device writes step data into Apple Health. Steppa does not read Garmin, Fitbit, Oura, or WHOOP. It reads Health. If Health is empty, the walk never happened for the challenge. You waived those screenshots in Steppa’s terms.
I host this challenge and am paid a 5% creator fee ($3.50) on top of the $70 stake, charged by Steppa, whether or not you finish. Disclosure.
This week’s join window is closed. Next window is Saturday 5 September through Sunday 6 September. Walking starts Monday 7 September. Full steps on how to join.
The Weekly Split is $70, 9,000 steps a day, seven days, Monday start. Join window is closed. Next window is Saturday 5 September through Sunday 6 September. Walking starts Monday 7 September.
The rule, once
Steppa is an Apple Health reader, not a wearable app. Garmin Connect, the Fitbit app, Oura, and WHOOP can each look complete and still leave Health blank. Steppa will show a short day. That is not a Steppa bug. The walk was never in the store it reads.
You waived disputes based on alternative tracking sources, including Fitbit, Garmin, Oura, WHOOP, manual counts, and screenshots from other apps. If it did not land in Apple Health, you have no appeal. Source: Steppa’s terms.
Do not leave the iPhone at home and wear only the Garmin. During a paid week the reliable setup is the iPhone in your pocket or an Apple Watch on your wrist. Treat the third-party wearable as a backup, never as your only tracker. Apple Watch is the stack that fails least often: Watch on the wrist, Health as the store, Steppa as the reader. This page will not invent a failure-rate table or per-device Health write toggles.
If Steppa is short
Open Apple Health first. Browse → Activity → Steps. Look at the day Steppa is missing.
If Health has the steps, that is a sync problem. The packet, the seven-day dispute window, and the 24-hour audit clock live on steps not syncing. Email support@playsteppa.com with Health screenshots, not wearable screenshots.
If Health is empty, you missed. A Garmin that never wrote to Health is a miss, not a sync failure. There is no partial credit. The stake stays in the pool. That page is what happens if you miss a day on Steppa.
Will The Weekly Split refund a wearable miss?
No. I host this challenge and am paid a 5% creator fee ($3.50) on top of the $70 stake, charged by Steppa, whether or not you finish.
Goodwill is only a declined verified sync failure: Health had the steps, Steppa did not, they declined after we helped you ask. Then we refund the host fee and gift a next entry, once per person per season, capped at 20% of that edition’s host fee. A wearable that never wrote to Health is not that case. Published on /rules.
If your week depends on a Garmin, Fitbit, Oura, or WHOOP as the only tracker, skip this edition. How to join, for later: /join.
