Referrals
Steppa referral code and bonuses, explained.
Two layers. Steppa’s referral programme issues promotional credit: usable toward entry fees, not withdrawable as cash. We sometimes pay a second bonus out of our host fee. They are not the same pot, and we do not bury that.
What Steppa pays
Steppa’s terms define referral rewards as promotional credit: non-withdrawable account credit for marketing, referral, or welcome bonus. It may only be applied toward entry fees. It has no cash value, is non-transferable, may expire, and is forfeited on account deletion. Affiliate pages that call this cash are wrong. That is the kind of thing this site exists to correct.
Amounts are set by Steppa and shown in the app. Third-party guides have reported $5 each side on a first entry; we have not confirmed that figure in an official Steppa source, so we will not state it as fact.
One genuinely useful corollary: winnings from a credit-funded entry are credited as withdrawable cash balance (terms §Treatment of winnings from Promotional Credit entries). The bonus itself is not cash. The pot you split if you finish can be.
If someone sent you a Steppa referral code, enter it in the app during signup. This site does not collect codes or issue them.
What we pay, from the host fee
Never routed through the app as a solicitation. Tracked in one ledger. Paid in Steppa gift cards where the point is to fund a next entry; cash only where the person may not want to re-enter.
| Programme | Trigger | Payout | Note |
|---|---|---|---|
| Steppa referral | Friend’s first entry | Promotional credit, amount shown in app, paid by Steppa | Not cash. Stacks under everything else. |
| Bring One | Member’s guest completes a first entry | $5 to the member | Cap 5 per member per edition |
| Streak credit | 3 consecutive finishes | $10 toward the next entry | Rewards the behaviour the series runs on |
| Comeback | Failed last edition, rejoins immediately | $5 back | Usually as credit |
| Micro-creator | Verified referral | 30% of host fee, monthly | Live from edition 5 |
Total incentive spend is published in the monthly recap once there is a recap. The transparency is the marketing.
What this page is not
It is not a scavenger hunt for a hidden promo code, and it is not a claim that walking pays the rent. Read how payouts work and the receipts before you stake $70. Then join on Saturday if the week in front of you actually looks walkable.
