The panic query

What happens if you miss a day on Steppa?

You are out. There is no partial credit. Your stake stays in the pool for the people who finished all seven days. The other six days counted for nothing. That is the product.

I host this challenge and am paid a 5% creator fee ($3.50) on top of the $70 stake, charged by Steppa, whether or not you finish. Disclosure.

What “out” means

A Steppa challenge is every day, not a weekly average. The Weekly Split is $70, 9,000 steps a day, seven days, Monday start. If any one of those days is short at midnight in the time zone recorded when you joined, you did not finish.

Finishers split the pool. Your $70 stays in it. The 5% host fee ($3.50) was already charged on top and is not returned because you missed. We do not publish a named roster of who missed. Settlements go on /receipts as aggregates. Week 1 has not settled yet, so that cell is empty on purpose.

Longer money math lives on how Steppa payouts work. This page is the miss rule.

A real miss vs a sync failure

A real miss is you did not walk 9,000 steps that day. Illness, a long shift, a flight, forgetting, leaving the phone on a table: those are a miss. Steppa will not restore the day. We will not either.

A sync failure is you walked the steps, Apple Health has them, and Steppa did not read them. That is a support ticket, not a sympathy case. Steppa may refund an entry or issue credit for a technical failure they verify. They may not. Nobody outside Steppa can overturn the ruling.

If the steps never landed in Apple Health, you do not have a case. Fitbit, Garmin, Oura, WHOOP, manual counts, and screenshots from other apps are waived in Steppa’s terms. The sync guide is the packet to assemble before you write.

What to email support

Email support@playsteppa.com as soon as you see the short day, before the challenge ends if you can. Results can only be disputed within seven days of the end date. Later emails are not considered.

If Steppa sends an audit request, you have 24 hours. Miss that clock and you can forfeit the fee and any winnings. We will help you put the Health packet together. We cannot change their answer.

What our goodwill covers, and what it does not

If Steppa declines a verified technical failure after we have helped you ask properly, The Weekly Split may refund the host fee on that entry and gift a free entry to the next edition. Once per person per season. Total goodwill spend is capped at 20% of that edition’s host fee. Published on /rules.

Goodwill does not cover a missed day, illness, travel, forgetting, or changing your mind. Those are the challenge, not a fault. Do not email us asking to “make an exception” for a day you did not walk.

When not to join this week

Skip this edition if you already know a day will be short. A sick day on the calendar. A 12-hour shift. A flight that lands after midnight in the zone you joined in. A week where the iPhone will sit in a bag while a Garmin does the counting. Android: there is no live client; see Steppa on Android.

Paid challenges are 18+. You can lose the $70 in full. Only stake what you would shrug off. Join window for The Weekly Split is Saturday and Sunday. Walking starts Monday. Monday is late for this edition.

If you can walk 9,000 a day for seven days with Apple Health writing the steps, paste https://join.playsteppa.com/join/WEEKLY after you have the app. Full steps on how to join.

Questions

What happens if you miss a day on Steppa?

You are out. There is no partial credit. Your stake stays in the pool for the people who finished all seven days.

Do I get credit if I hit the goal on the other six days?

No. One short day ends the week. The other six days counted for nothing. That is the product, not a glitch.

What if my steps did not sync and it looks like I missed a day?

Email support@playsteppa.com as soon as you can, before the challenge ends if possible. Dispute a result within seven days of the end date. Apple Health evidence only. Fitbit, Garmin, Oura, WHOOP, and other-app screenshots are waived.

Will The Weekly Split refund me if I miss a day?

No. Goodwill covers a verified technical failure that Steppa declined, once per person per season, and only the host fee plus a gifted next entry, capped at 20% of that edition’s host fee. It does not cover missed days, illness, or forgetting.

When should I skip The Weekly Split this week?

Skip it if you already know a day will be short: sick day, 12-hour shift, a flight that lands after midnight in the zone you joined in, or a tracker that does not write to Apple Health. The Weekly Split is $70, 9,000 steps a day, seven days, Monday start. Only stake what you can lose in full.
