Can you cancel a Steppa challenge?
No refund after you join. Withdrawing forfeits the fee, started or not. Source is Steppa’s terms, dated 5 August 2026. This page will not invent a cancel button we have not screenshotted.
I host this challenge and am paid a 5% creator fee ($3.50) on top of the $70 stake, charged by Steppa, whether or not you finish. Disclosure.
This week’s join window is closed. Next window is Saturday 5 September through Sunday 6 September. Walking starts Monday 7 September. Full steps on how to join.
The Weekly Split is $70, 9,000 steps a day, seven days, Monday start. The Saturday–Sunday join window is when you enter, not a cooling-off period. Sunday night is still after you joined.
What “cancel” actually is
There is no buyer’s remorse path. If you withdraw, the stake is forfeited. If walking has not started, it is still forfeited. If walking has started, it is still forfeited. The money stays in the pool for people who finish.
If Steppa cancels the challenge before start, they return the money as cash balance or promotional credit. Which one is shown in the app. Promo credit is not withdrawable cash.
Do not delete your account to get out. Deleting mid-challenge forfeits the stake, which stays in the pool. Do not charge back the $70. Steppa may terminate the account and forfeit cash, credits, and pending winnings.
Sick, travel, change of mind
Those are not a cancel. They are the challenge. Email support@playsteppa.com only if you have a medical or technical case they might treat as discretionary, preferably before the week ends. Changing your mind, a flight, or forgetting is not a ticket.
A missed day is a different page. You are out, no partial credit, stake stays in the pool: what happens if you miss a day on Steppa. A sync failure is not a cancel either. Apple Health evidence, seven-day dispute window, 24-hour audit clock: steps not syncing.
What The Weekly Split will and will not cover
I host this challenge and am paid a 5% creator fee ($3.50) on top of the $70 stake, charged by Steppa, whether or not you finish.
Our goodwill is only a declined verified sync failure, after we have helped you ask Steppa properly: we refund the host fee on that entry and gift a free next entry. Once per person per season. Capped at 20% of that edition’s host fee. Published on /rules. It does not cover buyer’s remorse, illness, travel, or a day you did not walk.
If you are not sure you can do seven days, skip the next window. Only stake what you would shrug off.
